Social Media Tips and Tricks

You’ve heard about Twitter (http://www.twitter.com) from mainstream media, blogs, even celebrities are chirping about it. Twitter has exploded around the world. In fact, at nearly three years old, Twitter grew 1,382 percent between February 2008 and February 2009 – from 475,000 to 7 million unique visitors.

From twitpic to twitalyzer to twibes, there are numerous services to use within and in addition to Twitter, yet all revolve around this 140-characters-or-less phenomenon. Here are some additional services you may or may not have heard of, but are still good to be aware of. Please note a few of these services are still being tested, therefore more research should be done prior to using them for the first time.

Twitter Joins the Social Network Club

Social networks are just that, social, by including people from all over the world and a network, providing an opportunity to interact with others online. On Facebook, members can join groups and become a “fan” of a specific company or product. On LinkedIn, members can join and engage in discussions in groups and search for companies to learn more about them. Recently, Twitter joined the social network club with the addition of an application called Twibes.
